Multi-Skills Program linking job seekers to training and jobs.

Linking local people to training, skills and real job opportunities

Jobs 4 Locals is a collaborative pre-employment training program designed to connect local job seekers with the skills, confidence and practical training needed to step into work.

Katryna’s success at the Care & Support program

Katryna joined the program in 2023 and had been out of the workforce for 10 years focusing on raising her children. She always wanted to work in the field, but the idea of online study was scary, and she knew studying on her own would be far too challenging, so she joined the program to benefit from face-to-face learning and classroom support.
Career Co Anthony

Anthony’s career kickstart for the mining sector

Anthony is grateful to the program for giving him the opportunity to learn and grow professionally. Not only did the program help him secure employment, but it also provided him with a support system of like-minded individuals and mentors. He now feels more secure and empowered in his job and encourages others who are struggling to find their dream job to consider enrolling in the programs and take the first step towards a successful career.

Designed around real industry needs

Jobs 4 Locals takes an employer and industry co-design approach, ensuring each program is shaped around genuine local job opportunities.

By working closely with partnering employers, Career Co helps create a clear pathway between training and employment. Participants gain line of sight to real jobs, while employers gain access to a skilled and motivated pool of local candidates.

The program supports participants to build both vocational and non-vocational skills, helping them address barriers to employment and prepare for a successful transition into the workforce.

Proven Outcomes

From 2021 to 2023, Career Co successfully delivered 10 large-scale, industry-driven, place-based workforce solutions across the Upper Spencer Gulf region.

Career Co continued this commitment in 2024 with a further four initiatives, offering 180 additional places for local participants.

Across these programs, Career Co has supported 640 participants into local employment pathways through targeted workforce development solutions.
